Weekly report 1 - Phase 1 : C++ upgrade UE4 to UE5


Hey everyone!

Well, after 2 weeks I think we have a lot of progress...

The first attempt looked very promising:


Only 3 errors... yeah, right....

After much checking, reading and fixing:


It seems that the more I fix... the more bugs appear. Well, this is as expected. After a LOT of reading, changing and updating... finally some progress.

There are 5 C++ plugins for ZIsland:


We have finally fixed all the bugs in the first plugin: AscentCombatFramework, this is the biggest and most complicated plugin. I feel very optimistic!


I know that being able to compile doesn't mean it will work, but it's the first step.

If we are able to compile the whole project, we will be able to launch the editor and get a first look at ZIsland in UE5. I'm looking forward to that day.

I think we'll get to that first successful build in 2 or 3 weeks. Wish us luck.
