Weekly Report 8: finally! ZIsland UE5 first version is available - support our project and get your copy now


Hello to all our dear players!

We have finally reached a point where we can share the progress of the update of ZIsland to UE5.

While this is still a WIP, there are many, many issues that we are still fixing and improving, this is a playable version and thanks to your feedback, we consider sharing the progress so far.

IMPORTANT: Please keep in mind this is a work in progress, we've decided to share current progress but there are still lots of things to do in order to achieve desired look&feel for the game, lots of bugs, small errors and maybe a couple of showstoppers.

On the other hand, hardware requirements are more demanding. There is more information on the UE5 forums and you can check it out HERE.

This new version does not contain any new story content so the numbering remains the same, but there are many changes that will be obvious. That's why we have named this version the same as the last one but additionally with a suffix: v0.18.9.1_UE5.

Known issues

  • Ocean doesn't look the same at the Motel area
  • Some textures in NPCs might look weird
  • Typos
  • Possible saving events problems. This issue might stop player progress. Let us know if this happens and we'll provide saved files
  • Some meshes still have been moved from intended position

Thanks to all of you for your support during these 8 weeks of work, we are still on schedule and we hope to have the new version around the first days of June. Fortunately, everything is going well.
